Waiting

May 6th – Ecclesiastes 3:11

Ecclesiastes 3:11

Sometimes life feels like waiting in a really long line with no idea what’s at the front. We want answers, open doors, and quick fixes. But God works on His schedule, not ours. And Ecclesiastes 3:11 reminds us that He makes everything beautiful in its time. Not rushed. Not random. Perfect. And while it might feel like nothing is happening, God is actually doing His best work behind the scenes. He’s putting all the pieces together in ways we can’t yet see. It’s like watching a garden grow. You don’t see the roots, but that doesn’t mean they’re not growing. Waiting isn’t punishment, it’s preparation. So if you’re in a season of waiting, hold on. Don’t let the silence make you doubt the promise. God hasn’t forgotten you. He’s just not finished yet. The answer to prayer you’re waiting for is coming. And when it does, it’ll be worth every second of the wait. In the meantime, breathe. Trust. Keep reminding your heart that God isn’t late. He’s always right on time!

March 27th – Lamentations 3:25

Lamentations 3:25

Waiting is hard. When prayers seem unanswered and doors remain closed, it’s easy to feel forgotten. But it’s in the seasons of waiting that our faith is stretched, refined, and strengthened. Waiting isn’t wasted, it’s where God does His deepest work in us. He teaches us patience, deepens our trust, and shifts our focus from our timing to His perfect plan. When we surrender our need for control and rest in His faithfulness, we begin to see that waiting isn’t about delay, it’s about preparation. God is shaping, molding, and drawing us closer to Him.

Though waiting feels uncertain, God is never uncertain. He is working behind the scenes in ways we can’t yet see. His timing is always perfect, even when it doesn’t match ours. What feels like a setback, is often a setup for something greater than we could ever imagine. Sometimes, God holds us in a season of waiting not to withhold good things, but to prepare us for something better. So even when the answers don’t come quickly, we can hold onto hope knowing that the One we wait for is always worth the wait.

Hebrews 10:23

Life is full of ups and downs, moments of joy and seasons of struggle. There are times when it feels easy to trust God, and then there are times when everything in us wants to give up. Maybe you’re in a season of waiting, praying for an answer that hasn’t come yet.Maybe life has thrown unexpected challenges your way, and doubt is creeping in. But Hebrews 10:23 reminds us to “hold fast to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful.” God doesn’t make empty promises. If He said He will provide, He will. If He said He will never leave you, He won’t. Even when we can’t see the way forward, God is already there, working things out for our good. Holding onto His promises doesn’t mean life will be easy, but it does mean we can have unshakable hope no matter what comes our way. Seasons change, but God’s faithfulness never does. So, don’t let fear or uncertainty pull you away—cling to His Word, trust in His timing, and know that He is always faithful.

Deuteronomy 8:2

Wandering through the wilderness seasons of life can feel endless. Like every step is heavy, every prayer unanswered, every hope just out of reach. We can’t help but wonder if God sees us, hears us, and if He’ll ever lead us. out. But Deuteronomy 8:2 reminds us that the wilderness isn’t meant to destroy us. It’s meant to humble us, test, and grow us. God uses these seasons to reveal what’s really in our hearts, to teach us dependence on Him, and to refine our faith.

It’s in the waiting, in the stretching, in the breaking that we learn He alone is our provider, our strength, our sustainer. Maybe you feel stuck, lost, or uncertain of what’s ahead. But take heart. Remember, the wilderness is not your final destination. Just as God led His people out of the desert and into the Promised Land, He is leading you forward too. He takes our wandering and turns it into wisdom. He takes our trials and turns them into testimonies. The road may not be easy, but God is with us every step, preparing us for the victory ahead. March 15th – Romans 5:3-4

Romans 5:3-4

Hardship has a way of bringing us to our knees. It breaks us open, leaving us with tears that seem endless and questions that have no answers. We know God is in control of all things, so we wonder why He doesn’t stop the pain, lift the struggle, and end the waiting. But as much as suffering hurts, I’ve personally seen how it shapes me. Every tear, every trial, every heartbreak has drawn me closer to God in ways that easy going days never could. Pain stretches our faith, refining us, deepening our trust, and teaching us endurance.

I didn’t always see it in the moment, but looking back, I can see how God was working. How He was strengthening me when I thought I was too weak to go on. If you’re in a season of suffering, hold on. God is not wasting your pain. He is growing something in you. He’s growing perseverance, character, and a hope that cannot be shaken. This storm won’t last forever, but what God is building in you through it will. So don’t lose heart. Keep pressing forward, one step at a time, knowing that His grace is enough, His strength is unshakable, and His love will carry you through.

June 26th – Psalm 40:1

Psalm 40:1

In times of pain and distress, we naturally yearn for immediate relief. We cry out to God for swift intervention and comfort. Our pleas are filled with urgency, desperate for Him to act and alleviate our suffering. Yet there are moments when His response seems delayed, and we find ourselves in a season of waiting. This waiting can feel excruciating, leading us to question whether God hears us at all. However Psalm 40:1 reassures us that God does hear our cries and His ears are always turned towards us, even when His answer isn’t immediate. The delay isn’t a sign of His absence or indifference, but a part of His perfect timing and deeper work in our lives. It teaches us patience, trust, and reliance on His greater plan. And in the waiting, God is shaping us, preparing us, and providing the strength and resilience we need. So while we may not receive instant relief, we can be confident that God listens, cares, and will ultimately act for our good. Turning our waiting into a testimony of His faithfulness.

Matthew 25:1-13

In Matthew 25:1-13, the parable of the ten virgins illustrates the critical lesson of readiness for Christ’s return. Five virgins, wise and vigilant, kept their lamps burning, while the other five, foolish and unprepared, let their lamps go out. This story serves as a reminder of the importance of spiritual alertness and preparedness. May we be counted among the wise, eagerly awaiting His arrival with hearts fully devoted and lamps ablaze. As we journey through life’s uncertainties, let us remain steadfast in our faith. As the Bride of Christ, may we be ever watchful for His imminent return. Let us not get distracted by the world, or become drowsy and sleepy. So when the bridegroom comes, we will be found ready and waiting. Shining as beacons of light in a darkened world, ready to enter into the joy of our Lord’s eternal presence.

May 7th – 2 Peter 3:9

2 Peter 3:9

When we see the amount of injustice in the world and how it grows everyday, we can feel frustrated. We cry out, “Maranatha! Come, Lord Jesus!” And we wonder why He delays His intervention and His magnificent return. Yet Peter reminds us that God’s patience isn’t a sign of indifference but rather an expression of His mercy. For in His great love, just as He waited for us to receive His grace, He patiently waits for all others. Giving everyone the chance to hear and receive the Good News of Jesus Christ. So as we await the return of our Savior, may we use this opportunity to purify our own hearts and lives, aligning ourselves with His will and striving for righteousness. May we humble ourselves before the Lord and turn aside from our own wickedness. And let us confess our sins with sincerity, seeking God’s grace to transform us from within. As we prepare for the day of His coming, may we be found blameless and pure, eagerly anticipating the fulfillment of the Lord’s promises with hearts fully surrendered to His love.

Psalm 62:1

Does it feel like life is one big waiting room? Waiting to see the doctor. Waiting in line at the grocery store. Waiting for next available representative. Over the course of a lifetime, we spend almost fours years waiting. Normally we wait without giving it a second thought. But when we’re hurting, when we desperately need a victory, the waiting becomes painfully unbearable. That’s how the Israelites felt as they endured suffering while awaiting their promised Messiah. The advent season is all about waiting. And the importance of trusting in God, in His timing and promises. But although waiting isn’t easy, we can find comfort knowing we never wait in vain. Nor longer than God intends. And He always blesses our faithfulness greater than we could ever imagine. And find comfort knowing the pain of waiting is nothing compared to the awesome goodness God has in store for us.
