Walking With Jesus

November 2nd – Psalm 16:11

Psalm 16:11

The other morning, I went for a walk as the morning sun was just began shining on the horizon. It was just me, the quiet world, and the soft glow of a new day waking up around me. The path was familiar, yet every time I walk it, I feel a gentle pull toward peace, as if God Himself is guiding each step. That’s what Psalm 16:11 promises us: “You make known to me the path of life; in Your presence there is fullness of joy.” Even when life feels uncertain, when we don’t know what the next turn will hold, God doesn’t leave us guessing or walking alone. He leads us, not into confusion, but into life. A real, abundant, joy-filled life found in His presence. The world offers temporary pleasures, but His joy is lasting. It fills the empty places, calms anxious hearts, and strengthens weary souls. When we learn to walk His path instead of our own, we discover peace that doesn’t depend on circumstances and joy the world can’t steal. Today, may we slow down, listen for His leading, and choose the path that draws us closer to His heart, because that is where the fullness of life is found.

Prayer Prompt:
Lord, show me the path You have prepared for me today. Help me walk closely with You and find fullness of joy in Your presence.

October 8th – Matthew 24:44

Matthew 24:44

There’s a quiet urgency in the words of Jesus when He tells us that the Son of Man will return at an hour we do not expect. The Lord  doesn’t tell us this to instill fear in our hearts, but to awaken our hearts. To remind us that every sunrise is one day closer to His glorious return. Living ready isn’t about watching the clock. It’s about watching our hearts. It’s found in choosing faithfulness in the little things, obedience in the unnoticed moments, and love even when it costs us something. And it’s in forgiving quickly, serving humbly, and keeping our lamps burning bright.

Each act of faith, each whispered prayer, and each moment of surrender, becomes part of our preparation. The world may be distracted, chasing what fades. But we live with a different focus, our eyes fixed on eternity. For when Jesus comes may He find us not fearful, but faithful. Not hiding, but shining. Not drifting, but abiding in Him. Ready hearts don’t panic at Christ’s coming, they rejoice. Because they’ve been walking with Him all along.

May 5th – Psalm 23:1

Psalm 23:1

The Lord is our Shepherd. That means we don’t have to scramble, strive, or stress to keep life together. And where He leads, there’s no lack. Not because we always feel full, but because He is. Jesus doesn’t just toss breadcrumbs. He prepares a feast in barren places. That’s why it’s important to pray that God, would Shepherd our hearts. May He guide it when it wanders. Protect and guard it when it’s wounded. And calmly ground it when it races ahead. The Lord knows the path better than we do, and He never leads us into something without walking with us through it. So even when we don’t understand the journey, we can trust the Shepherd. He knows where the still waters are. He restores what this world drains out. His presence doesn’t promise a pain-free life, but it does promise we’ll never walk alone. We may not know what’s next, but we know Who’s leading. And that is more than enough.

August 7th – Colossians 1:15

Colossians 1:15

He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.”

When spending time in God’s Word, I can’t help but feel a pang of jealousy while reading about those who saw, talked, and walked with the Lord in the flesh. To witness His miracles, hear His teachings, and experience His boundless love in person was a wondrous gift. For in Jesus, God’s grace and truth became tangible. And through Him, humanity experienced the physical embodiment of God’s love and mercy. Because our Heavenly Father desires a close, personal relationship with us, He sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to reconcile us back to Himself, and provide a path to eternal life. Creator of all things, God in the flesh, both fully God and man, Christ came to ransom His life for the lives of all who call on Him for salvation. And one day those who receive His gift of salvation, will also share in the awesome privilege of seeing the Lord face to face. But until He calls us home, through the scripture, we can learn how Jesus walked while on the earth. And by following His example, we can draw closer to God by living as He did.

May 6th – 1 John 1:3

1 John 1:3

The apostle John spent over three years walking alongside Jesus. He lived, worked, ate, loved, laughed, and cried by the side of our Savior. John saw firsthand the miracles, mercy, and grace Jesus exhibited daily. And the close, personal relationship with Christ John had, he wants for us as well. So John shared with the world his testimony of the goodness of the Lord, and the salvation that Jesus alone offers. And just as Jesus walked with John, when we abide in Him, He walks with us well. What a wonderful truth it is to know that not a single day will go by without Jesus by our side!
