Hebrews 11:1

Only a few stood where heaven touched the earth that night, yet their witness lit the way for faith beyond our sight. A reminder of how the world celebrates the birth of Jesus, yet few actually had the privilege of witnessing the miracle. It was only a small group which stood near the manger that night. The rest only heard about it instead. They listened to the testimony of shepherds and angels announcing the birth of our Savior. They trusted the message that had been passed along. And they chose to believe. Hebrews 11:1 reminds us that faith is confidence in what we hope for. It’s being sure of what our eyes can’t see. We didn’t stand in the stable that night. Nor did we hear the newborn cry. And we didn’t see heaven touch earth in that moment. Yet our hearts still rejoice. Because faith doesn’t depend on sight. It rests on truth, clings to God’s promises, and anchors us in hope. We believe our Savior was born in the flesh. Born to fulfill God’s promise. And born to offer us eternal life.

Reflection Question:
How does my faith grow when I trust God’s promises, even when I cannot see the full picture?

Prayer Prompt:
Lord, thank You for the gift of faith. Help me to trust what I cannot see and to hold firmly to Your promises. As I move forward after Christmas, anchor my heart in hope and deepen my confidence in Your truth.

December 15th- Luke 2:15

Luke 2:15

One of my favorite parts of the glorious Christmas story are the shepherds. These were men considered lowly, ordinary, and overlooked by society. Yet God chose them to hear heaven’s announcement first. He didn’t go to palaces or temples, He went to fields and night watches. I imagine their hearts racing with awe and disbelief as fear turned into wonder. They must have felt unworthy, yet incredibly chosen. Because God trusted them with the greatest news the world would ever know. In that moment, the forgotten became the invited. The unseen became the witnesses. Their simple obedience led them straight to the Savior. They didn’t delay or question their worth, they went. And when they found Jesus, their lives were forever changed. God’s choice of shepherds tells me He delights in using humble hearts to reveal holy glory. It reminds me that status doesn’t impress God, faith does. The shepherds show us that heaven still moves toward the lowly. And that God often writes His greatest stories through ordinary people willing to go when He calls.

Reflection Question:
Where might God be inviting you to step out in faith, even if you feel overlooked, unqualified, or ordinary?

Prayer Prompt:
Lord, thank You for seeing the lowly and choosing ordinary people for Your extraordinary purposes. Give me a heart like the shepherds—humble, obedient, and willing to go when You call. Help me trust that You can use my life to reflect Your glory.

Galatians 5:22-23

In Galatians 5:22-23, the Apostle Paul outlines the Fruit of the Spirit. A collection of nine virtues that together make up a Christ-like character. These virtues, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control, are the hallmarks of a life transformed by the Holy Spirit. Each attribute reflects part of Jesus’ own nature and offers a blueprint for how we are to live as His followers. Love leads us to selflessly care for others. Joy uplifts us and those around us, and peace brings harmony in our relationships. Patience helps us endure trials with grace, while kindness and goodness spur us to acts of compassion and integrity. Faithfulness keeps us steadfast in our commitments. Gentleness tempers our actions with humility, and self-control enables us to resist temptation. By cultivating these virtues, we not only grow closer to Christ but also become living testimonies of His love and power. Allowing us to become effective witnesses of the gospel in a world that desperately needs saving.

Matthew 28:19-20

Just as flowers spread their fragrance far and wide, Jesus calls us to go forth and make disciples of all nations, sharing the sweet aroma of His Good News. With hearts of passion and purpose, let us embrace our role as ambassadors of His love, scattering seeds of faith in every corner of the earth. As His witnesses, may our lives reflect His truth, compelling others to seek Jesus and find eternal salvation. Like petals lifted by the breeze, may our words and actions carry the transformative power of the Lord’s grace, drawing hearts to Him in worship and love. With unwavering conviction and commitment, let us reach out to the world, bringing light to even the darkest corners. And while we heed His command to go and make disciples, may we do so with humility and compassion, recognizing that it is His Spirit working through us that brings about true transformation. Finally, may we trust in God’s promise to be with us always, guiding and empowering us to fulfill His divine purpose for our lives.

Mark 16:15

The message of Easter, the triumph of Christ over sin and death, is too precious to keep to ourselves. It’s a message of hope, redemption, and eternal life. And one meant to be shared with everyone we encounter. That’s why in Mark we are given the call to go throughout the earth, sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ with others. And to be living witnesses of His love and grace in our everyday lives. Whether it’s through sharing our testimonies, inviting others to church, or simply living out our faith with authenticity and compassion, we have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of those around us. So in the spirit of Easter, let us pray for divine opportunities to share the hope and joy that we have found in Christ. To go forth, fulfilling the Great Commission boldly and courageously. Knowing that when we proclaim the Gospel and others receive Jesus as their Savior, lives will be changed, hearts will be transformed, and souls will be saved for the glory of God.

2 Corinthians 5:17

In most mystery shows when the main witness testifies against the “big fish”, they enter the witness protection program. There they start a new life, in a new town with a new name. As Christians when we receive Jesus as our Savior, we enter God’s witness protection program. For we undergo a spiritual transformation making us a new person, with a new identity, and a new purpose in life. Gone is our old self and old identity with all of its sin and brokenness. And in its place, through the grace of God, is a glorious new self, empowered by the Holy Spirit. And as this new self, we are called to live a life that reflects our new identity in Christ. This includes growing in knowledge and love of God, pursuing holiness and righteousness, serving others, and witnessing to the world of God’s saving grace.

Romans 8:16

Do you ever find yourself wondering if God truly calls you His child? Doubt is a powerful weapon of the Enemy, and he wields it at every turn. In these moments of attacks, we can find reassurance in the Holy Spirit. For He lovingly testifies to our human spirits that when we faithfully abide in Jesus, we are indeed His. So cast aside the lies of Satan. Listen instead to the truth of the Spirit. And stand in God’s promise that the moment we receive Jesus as our Savior we become adopted heirs in the family of Christ, and His beloved children forever.
