Work in Progress

October 13th – Philippians 1:6

Philippians 1:6

Do you ever feel like it’s one step forward and two steps back? You try to be more patient, more loving, more trusting, and more like Jesus, but then something happens and you find yourself reacting in a way you wish you hadn’t.

The truth is, even as Christians, we all stumble. We have moments when our old habits creep back in. Times when our emotions get the best of us, or we fall short of the person we want to be. But here’s the beautiful thing. God never gives up on us!

He knows we’re still growing, and He isn’t finished with us yet. When we surrender our hearts to Him, His Holy Spirit works within us, changing us from the inside out. Little by little, He softens our hearts, renews our minds, and teaches us to respond with more of the love, grace, and patience of Jesus.

Growth doesn’t always happen as quickly as we’d like, and sometimes we may not even notice how far we’ve come until we look back. But every stumble doesn’t mean we’ve failed, and every difficult day doesn’t erase the work God is doing in us.

The same God who began a good work in you is still working on you today. So give yourself grace, keep turning to Him, and don’t give up just because you’re not where you want to be yet. God is still shaping you, teaching, and still making you more like Jesus, one day at a time.

Philippians 1:6

Faith is a journey, not a destination. When we receive Jesus as our Savior, the Holy Spirit takes up residence within us and begins the beautiful, sometimes difficult, work of transforming us into the likeness of Christ. But it doesn’t happen overnight. It can be a lifelong process of growing, learning, surrendering, and being changed from the inside out.

There will be days when we get it right, and there will be days when we stumble and fall. Times when we wonder why we haven’t grown more, why we still struggle with the same things, or why we aren’t  who we want to be yet. But God knows we are works in progress. And He isn’t finished with us.

Little by little, He continues to mold, refine, teach, and draw us closer to Jesus. Even when we don’t see the progress, He’s still working. Even when we fall short, His grace is still there. And even when we become discouraged with ourselves, He never gives up on us.

I’m so thankful that God refuses to leave me where He found me. He saw me in all my brokenness, weaknesses, mistakes, and imperfections, and He loved me anyway. The Lord didn’t just save me and walk away, He stayed. And He continues to work in me every single day, patiently shaping me into who He created me to be.

So if you’re frustrated with where you are in your faith journey, take heart. You may not be where you want to be, but you aren’t where you once were. Keep walking. Keep surrendering. And keep trusting. The God who started the work in you will never abandon it.

July 30th – Philippians 1:6

Philippians 1:6

If you’ve been walking with the Lord for any length of time, you’ve probably experienced the frustration of feeling like you’re not where you want to be spiritually. You long to trust God more, pray more faithfully, love more deeply, and become more like Jesus. Yet some days it feels like you’re making progress, while other days it feels like three steps forward, two steps back.

The good news is that God is not surprised by our struggles. He has always known that we are works in progress. Philippians 1:6 reminds us that the One who began a good work in us will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

Our spiritual growth isn’t a sprint, it’s a lifelong journey. Through the Holy Spirit, God patiently teaches us, corrects us, strengthens us, and gently molds us into the likeness of His Son. Every victory, every failure, every trial, and every lesson is being used by God to mold us into the likeness of Jesus.

So don’t lose heart when you stumble or feel like you’re growing too slowly. Keep seeking Him. Keep trusting Him. And keep getting back up when you fall. The God who saved you has not stopped working in you, and He never will. His grace is greater than your failures, His patience is greater than your weaknesses, and His love is faithful to finish what He started. One day, when we stand before Jesus, His work in us will finally be complete. Until then, we keep walking by faith, knowing our Heavenly Father never gives up on His children.
