1 Peter 5:7

There have been many times when I’ve read the words, “Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you,” and wondered what that really looks like. How do we actually cast our cares on the Lord?

I’ve learned it isn’t a one time event. Instead, it’s a daily choice. It’s opening my heart to God and telling Him exactly what’s weighing me down. And it’s admitting that I’m tired, afraid, overwhelmed, or uncertain, and then choosing to place those burdens into His hands instead of trying to carry them myself.

The truth is, God never intended us to carry the weight of life alone. We spend so much energy worrying about tomorrow, replaying yesterday, and trying to control things that were never ours to control. But when we hold tightly to our worries, they only grow heavier. When we place them in God’s hands, we make room for His peace to fill our hearts.

Why should we cast our cares on Him? Because He cares for us. Not because we’re strong enough or deserving enough, but because we are His children. The God who created the heavens and the earth cares about the things that keep you awake at night. Nothing is too small, too big, or too insignificant to bring before Him.

So today, don’t keep carrying what Jesus is inviting you to surrender. Place your worries, your fears, your unanswered questions, and your broken heart into His loving hands. You’ll discover that His shoulders are far stronger than yours, and His peace is always greater than your burdens.
