Paul understood something important about sharing the gospel. Sometimes we have to meet people where they are. He didn’t change the truth of God’s Word, but he was willing to set aside his own rights, preferences, and comforts so he could connect with others and lead them to Jesus.
As believers, we are free in Christ, but our freedom isn’t meant to become a barrier between us and those who need Him. Sometimes reaching someone means stepping outside our comfort zone, listening to their story, understanding their struggles, and meeting them with compassion right where they are.
This doesn’t mean compromising God’s truth or becoming like the world. It means following the example of Jesus, who came to where we were and met us with love and grace. If we want to lead others to Christ, we must be willing to lay down our pride, our preferences, and even our freedoms when necessary for the sake of someone else’s salvation.
We don’t have to wait for people to become perfect before we love them or share Jesus with them. We can meet them where they are, just as Christ met us, and gently point them toward the One who can transform their lives.
