Chaos

November 26th – Hebrews 13:15

Hebrews 13:15

The day before Thanksgiving can be a hectic one. There are lists to finish, meals to prepare, and a house that suddenly needs more attention than usual. But Hebrews 13:15 gently pulls us back to what matters most. And that’s offering God a continual sacrifice of praise. Not just praise that comes easily when everything is warm and festive, but praise that comes from a heart choosing gratitude even in the middle of the noise. As we move through today with hands full and minds scattered, we can pause. Pause and remember that gratitude isn’t tied to a perfect table or a flawless plan. It’s the song that flows from knowing who God is. He is faithful, steady, and deserving of our thanks in every season. So before the rush of tomorrow begins, let’s offer Him praise right here. Praise Him in the ordinary, in the preparation, and in the quiet corners of our heart. Because Thanksgiving may come once a year, but a grateful spirit is something He invites us to carry every day. And when we offer Him that kind of praise, it becomes a gift far greater than anything on our table.

Prayer Prompt:

Lord, before the rush of tomorrow arrives, help me pause today and offer You genuine, heartfelt praise. Show me how to thank You not just with my words, but with my attitude, my choices, and my heart. Help me find moments of gratitude in the middle of the preparation and remind me that You are worthy of thanksgiving every single day. Amen.

November 24th – Psalm 62:6-8

Psalm 62:6-8

When life feels chaotic, especially during the holidays, it helps to remember that true Thanksgiving begins with knowing where our hope is anchored. So much can shift around us. Plans change, emotions run high, and family conflicts resurface. Yet through it all, God stays steady, faithful, and completely unshakable. He is the quiet strength beneath our feet when we feel overwhelmed. He’s the One we can bring every worry to, and the quiet shelter for our anxious hearts. And when gratitude feels hard to reach, God is the peace that gently settles our souls. Thanksgiving becomes deeper when we realize we’re not thanking Him for perfect circumstances, but for His perfect faithfulness. God holds us when the table is full and when our hearts feel empty. He listens when our prayers are loud and when they’re only tears. And He invites us to pour out our hearts. Not because He needs our words, but because He cares for our wounds. And as we sit with the blessings we can see and the ones we’re still waiting for, we remember that our gratitude is rooted in who He is. God is steady, strong, and always near. In that truth, we find a Thanksgiving that lasts long after the day is over.

Prayer Prompt:

Lord, help me anchor my hope in You today. Teach me to rest in Your steady presence and to find gratitude even when life feels unsteady.

April 20th – John 20:19-22

John 20:19-22

Locked doors couldn’t keep Jesus out, and fear couldn’t keep Him away. In John 20:19–22, we find the disciples huddled together, afraid and uncertain. But then Jesus came and stood among them. And His first words? “Peace be with you.” He didn’t shame them for their fear or doubt. He met them right where they were in their trembling, in their hiding, in their confusion. And He offered peace. The same Jesus steps into our anxious hearts today, through locked doors of worry and walls built by pain. He breathes peace into our chaos and reminds us we are not alone. His presence changes everything. It strengthens what’s weak, calms what’s restless, and assures us that no situation is too dark for His light. Jesus didn’t wait for the disciples to be brave. He came in their weakness. And He comes to us the same way. Will we let Him in? Will we receive His peace and let it settle over every storm within?

March 28th – Mark 4:39

Mark 4:39

Storms will come. Unexpected trials, heartbreak, and challenges that shake the very foundation of our lives. In those moments, fear tries to take over. We wonder if God sees, if He cares, if why He won’t calm the raging waves. But just as Jesus was in the boat with His disciples during the storm, He is in the boat with us too. The wind may howl, the waters may rise, and the fear may feel overwhelming, but we are never alone. Even when it seems like He is silent, God is still in control. He is our peace in the chaos, our anchor in uncertainty. When we shift our focus from the storm to the One who commands the wind and waves, we find the strength to endure. He may calm the storm around us, or He may calm the storm within us, but either way He is faithful. Fear asks, “What if?” but faith declares, “Even if, God is still good.” No storm lasts forever, and when the skies clear, we will see how He carried us through. Take heart. Jesus is in your boat, and that is all you need.

September 10th – James 3:17

Week 2 – Wisdom From Heaven (James 3:17)

James compares worldly wisdom, which is often rooted in pride, selfish ambition, and sin, against godly wisdom, which comes from above and reflects God’s character. Worldly wisdom may appear attractive at first, offering quick success, power, or status. But ultimately, it leads to chaos, division, and strife. Because it’s focused on personal gain and often neglects the well-being of others. On the other hand, godly wisdom is pure, peace-loving, gentle, and full of mercy. It seeks harmony, promotes love, and builds others up. While the world teaches us to chase after our desires at any cost, God’s wisdom calls us to seek righteousness, humility, and peace. This wisdom produces good fruit in our lives, leading to peace, kindness, and a deeper relationship with God and others. True wisdom is not just knowledge, but a heart aligned with God’s will. It’s a gift we should pursue through prayer, surrender, and obedience to Christ’s teachings. Living in godly wisdom brings a peace that worldly wisdom can never offer.

Questions For Reflection –

  1. How can we cultivate godly wisdom in our daily lives, ensuring our decisions and actions reflect purity, peace, and humility rather than selfish ambition?
  1. In what ways can we practice being gentle, merciful, and impartial when faced with conflict or challenging situations, following the guidance of James 3:17?

True wisdom sparkles not in worldly knowledge, but in a heart full of peace, gentleness, and mercy from above. 🙏🏻❤️

Hebrews 10:23

In the midst of a world turned upside down, Hebrews 10:23 speaks to the turmoil we face. As predicted in the last days, the lines between good and evil have not only been blurred, but flipped upside down. People no longer have trust in their leaders, in their news sources, and even each other. For anger, division, and chaos rule the day. And as the presidential election grows closer, the vitriol grows louder, pushing society further into uncertainty. Yet in these turbulent times, we can cling unswervingly to the hope found in Jesus. His promises stand firm as a beacon of light in the darkness. Though everything may seem out of control, we can anchor our souls in His unchanging truth. January 31st – James 1:17

James 1:17

In a world of instability where nothing stays the same, the unmovable nature of God stands as our eternal anchor. His unchanging nature brings comfort and hope, giving us an unshakable source of stability, no matter what life brings. And as our Father of lights, He radiates goodness, love, and blessings, consistently showering us with gifts that reflect His perfect nature. Gifts we do not deserve, but yet God so generously gives. And when we anchor our hearts to His eternal goodness, we’ll find peace, and security in His unchanging love and care.
