Ephesians 2:22

At Christmas, we celebrate the moment Jesus stepped into the world as the foundation of everything God was building. He came quietly and humbly, yet strong enough to hold every life together. God’s church isn’t just a place we gather, it’s made up of people. And each one is intentionally placed and deeply valued. To God, every heart matters, and every story has purpose. That’s why He sent Jesus. For He is the steady center that aligns us, supports us, and gives us meaning. Without Him, things feel scattered and unsure. But with Him, we are held firm. Christmas reminds us that God longs to dwell with His people, not from afar, but right in the middle of our lives. Each person brings something unique and necessary to what He is creating. No one is extra. No one is forgotten. Together, we become a living reflection of His love. We are being shaped side by side, strengthened by grace. And because Christ came, we are connected, secure, and forever part of what God is building.

Reflection Question:
How can you embrace your place in what God is building and allow Jesus to be the steady center of your life, especially during this Christmas season?

Prayer Prompt:
Lord, thank You for sending Jesus to be the foundation that holds us together. Help me trust my place in Your work, value the role You’ve given me, and live in a way that reflects Your love. May my life be firmly centered on Christ and used for Your glory.

Matthew 7:24-25

Life has a way of bringing storms. Whether it be through unexpected loss, painful trials, or moments that shake everything we thought was steady. When the winds howl and the rain pours, it’s easy to panic or feel like everything is crumbling beneath us. Yet Jesus reminds us that when our lives are built on Him, the solid rock, we are never standing alone. Foundations matter. If we build on shifting things like success, people’s approval, or our own strength, the storm will eventually reveal how fragile those foundations are. But when we anchor ourselves in God’s Word, prayer, and trusting His promises, we discover a stability the world can’t offer. Standing firm doesn’t mean a life free of troubles. But it does mean we know who holds us steady through it all. And when the storm finally passes, we can look back and see that God not only carried us safely through, but also strengthened and refined us in the process. Sometimes the fiercest storms bring the clearest reminders that Jesus is our unshakable foundation. With Him, we can stand firm, no matter what comes our way.

Matthew 22: 37-39

In the shadow of the cross, we hear the heartbeat of Easter, love. When Jesus was asked about the greatest commandment, His answer was a simple one. Love God with all your heart, soul, and mind, and love others as yourself. These weren’t just words; they were the very foundation of His mission. Because Jesus didn’t just preach love, He lived it, bled it, and died to prove it.

This Easter as we reflect on His sacrifice, we’re reminded that our highest calling isn’t performance or perfection. It’s love. Love that reaches up in worship and out in compassion. Love that forgives, serves, listens, and lays down pride. Do we truly love like Jesus loved us? Is our love for God the driving force behind our lives? Are we loving others in ways that reflect the cross? Easter isn’t just a celebration, it’s a commissioning. To live like the One who loved fully. To let our lives echo the greatest commandment. Because when love is our motive, our mission, and our message, everything changes.

Mark 4:39

Storms will come. Unexpected trials, heartbreak, and challenges that shake the very foundation of our lives. In those moments, fear tries to take over. We wonder if God sees, if He cares, if why He won’t calm the raging waves. But just as Jesus was in the boat with His disciples during the storm, He is in the boat with us too. The wind may howl, the waters may rise, and the fear may feel overwhelming, but we are never alone. Even when it seems like He is silent, God is still in control. He is our peace in the chaos, our anchor in uncertainty. When we shift our focus from the storm to the One who commands the wind and waves, we find the strength to endure. He may calm the storm around us, or He may calm the storm within us, but either way He is faithful. Fear asks, “What if?” but faith declares, “Even if, God is still good.” No storm lasts forever, and when the skies clear, we will see how He carried us through. Take heart. Jesus is in your boat, and that is all you need.

Week 3 – Wisdom In Parenting – (Proverbs 22:6)

With 1,000 wives and concubines, it’s safe to say Solomon knew a thing or two about raising children. He understood the evils of the world, and the importance of teaching the way a child should go from an early age. In today’s world, society teaches that truth is relative and anything goes. That’s why it’s more critical than ever for Christians to give their children a firm foundation in God’s Word. This means instilling biblical truths early on so that when the waves of culture or doubt crash over them, they will stand firm in their faith. Everywhere they turn, our young people are under attack. But the Word of God is the greatest protection, providing guidance, wisdom, and hope. Raising our children with an unshakable foundation in Christ ensures they ready and able to discern right from wrong, make godly choices, and hold fast to their faith, no matter the pressures they face. And that’s not just wise parenting, it’s a spiritual investment in their future. One that will bear fruit for generations to come.

Week 1 – The wisdom of Obedience (Matthew 7:24-27)

Hurricane season is going strong. And as the gulf and east coasts prepare in case a storm approaches, the importance of a strong foundation becomes evident. Homes built on solid ground are more likely to withstand the fierce winds and torrential rains. Just as it is in life. For those of us who build our lives on the solid teachings of Jesus, we’re better equipped to endure the storms that come our way. When trials, challenges, and temptations rage around us, those rooted in Christ remain steadfast. As a well built house stands firm against a hurricane, a life grounded in Jesus’ teachings can withstand any adversity. The storms will come. The Enemy will make sure of that. But with Jesus as our foundation we can face them with confidence, knowing that He will keep us standing strong. For the truth of Jesus’ teachings anchors us in safety, shielding us from life’s fiercest storms. With Him as our cornerstone, nothing can shake our faith.

Week 1 – The Foundation of Wisdom (Proverbs 1:7)

Proverbs 1:7 tells us, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge.” Meaning true wisdom starts with a deep reverence for God. Now this fear isn’t about being terrified, but rather recognizing God’s holiness, power, and authority over all things. When we fear the Lord, we acknowledge that His ways are higher than ours, humbling ourselves to seek His guidance, instruction, and correction. Yet taking correction, even from God, can be hard for us. Because it challenges our pride and self-sufficiency. We often resist correction, because it exposes our flaws and forces us to confront our mistakes. It requires humility to admit that we don’t have all the answers and that we need God’s wisdom to navigate life. But when we embrace correction as a form of God’s loving discipline, we grow in understanding and maturity. The fear of the Lord then becomes the foundation upon which we build a life of wisdom. Where we learn to accept guidance, instruction, and correction as a necessary part of our spiritual growth.

  1. How can we cultivate a healthy fear of the Lord in our daily lives to ensure that our decisions and actions are guided by His wisdom rather than our own understanding?

Week 5 – Strength In God (1 John 4:4)

In these last days, we are warned that many false prophets will arise on the scene. And with them they’ll bring messages that tickle the ears but stray far from the truth of God’s Word. They will preach gospels that sound appealing, offering what people want to hear rather than what they need to hear. But as believers we have a responsibility to diligently compare every message we hear against the truth found in Scripture. Thankfully, we are not alone in this task. The Spirit of God Himself dwells within us, guiding us into all truth and giving us the discernment to recognize and reject the lies of Satan. For we are promised, “Greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world.” (1 John 4:4) No matter how wise the false prophets may seem we can stand firm. Firm with confidence in the power of the Holy Spirit, who empowers us to remain faithful to the one, true, Gospel. With God’s Word as our foundation and the Spirit as our guide, we can resist deception and cling to the truth that sets us free.

We live in a materialistic society. A world which tells us that power, money, and fame are the keys to happiness. We’re bombarded daily with messages that suggest the more we accumulate, the happier we’ll be. But the truth is all the money in the world can’t buy the most precious thing of all, love. In 1 Corinthians 13:1-7 the apostle Paul tells us that without love, our achievements and possessions are meaningless. Paul’s not talking about a fleeting, shallow love, but an abiding, true, Christlike love for others that reflects the heart of God. Without this love, even if we have everything this world has to offer and more, we truly have nothing. This deep, selfless love that seeks the good of others above our own, is the foundation of a fulfilling life. One far more valuable than any wealth or power the world can offer. When we live in Christlike love, we discover a richness and joy that far surpasses any earthly treasure. A love that gives our lives true meaning and purpose.

In 1 John 4:7-12, we see how deeply love is intertwined with our faith. God’s love was so profound that He sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to pay the ultimate price for our sins. This act of sacrificial love is the cornerstone of our salvation, demonstrating the depth of God’s love for us. If we claim to follow Jesus, yet fail to love others as He did, we must question the authenticity of our faith. True faith in Christ is reflected in how we love, for love is the evidence of God’s presence in our lives. If God’s love truly abides in us, it will naturally flow out in our actions, words, and relationships. To love like Jesus is not just a suggestion, it’s a commandment that defines our identity as His followers.
