Luke 10:1-2

As believers we are workers in God’s field, entrusted with a sacred mission. For the Lord’s harvest is abundant and the need for laborers great. And many in this world are longing for spiritual guidance and the message of God’s love. Just as a farmer tends the soil, plants the seeds, and nurtures the crops to bring forth a fruitful harvest, so is our work for God. Our work involves sowing the seeds of God’s Word, sharing the message of salvation, and demonstrating His love and grace through our actions.  A role requiring dedication, perseverance, and a heart filled with compassion for those who don’t yet know the love of Christ. It calls us to be obedient and proactive in our faith. To step out into the abundant harvest fields with a heart of love, compassion, and a sense of urgency. For the Lord is soon returning, and if we truly love others with a genuine Christlike love, we should wish for none to be left behind. We should want all to enter into the glory and love of God’s kingdom.

October 6th – Mark 4:26-29

Mark 4:26-29

When Jesus walked the earth, He often taught through stories intended to teach a moral about life And in the parable of the growing seed, God’s abundance in the growth and fruitfulness of His kingdom is highlighted. Just as a seed sown in the ground grows and produces a harvest many times its size, so it is with the Word of God. When planted in hearts receptive to it, God’s Word can yield an abundant spiritual harvest. So we can trust in God’s timing and wisdom instead of our own. And recognize that growth in our faith and of God’s kingdom often occurs little by little. This teaches us to cultivate patience and persistence in our spiritual journey. And to fully believe that God is at work even when we don’t see immediate results. In times of doubt, Jesus encourages us to faithfully sow the seeds of God’s Word through our actions and our testimony. Doing so because we know that God’s abundance will manifest in due time, both in our own lives and in the lives of those we influence.

Colossians 1:13

“He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son.”

Many try to twist the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Or try to make it more complicated than it is. But the core message is this. Once we were dead in our sins, eternally separated from God. But because He loves us so much, God sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, to rescue us. And through His death and resurrection, Jesus conquered the power of sin and death forever. Now all who call Him Lord, Christ delivers from the dominion of darkness and transfers into the kingdom of His marvelous light. Because of God’s boundless mercy, He lifts us from the depths of despair, transforming our lives into beacons of hope and righteousness. By embracing His deliverance, we can walk in the glorious freedom of His truth. And we can experience the joyous journey of living as children of light, guided by God’s eternal love and presence. Jesus is returning soon to set up His kingdom on earth. And only those who receive His free gift of Salvation will be citizens of the most glorious domain ever known.

May 21st – 1 Peter 1:3

1 Peter 1:3

I love this declaration of loving praise from Peter. Because it comes from a heart overflowing with gratitude for the immeasurable mercy of God. A mercy He gives to us, His children, every minute of every day. And from that great mercy springs forth the living hope we have in Christ’s resurrection, and our new birth as adopted children into the family of God. So in light of our new identities as coheirs with Christ, we are to align our lives with God’s Will and His kingdom values. That means trusting in His abundant love, timing, and direction as we navigate life’s challenges. And sharing the message of the Good News of Jesus Christ, and the transformative, living hope He alone offers. Oh how can we not join Peter in his worship and adoration of God. For in His abundant mercy, grace, and love, He spared nothing to give us eternal life. Not even His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ.

May 20th – 1 John 2:17

1 John 2:17

When we put our hope and faith into worldly things, we’ll end up disappointed every time. Because the desires and pursuits of the world are fleeting. Material possessions, earthly achievements, and worldly pleasures will eventually fade away. That’s why the only One who is worthy of our hope and faith is God. He will never forsake, abandon, nor disappoint us. His love, truth, and promises are forever. And when we seek His will above all else, we can have confidence in the hope of eternal life. The riches we want, the only ones that matter, are the ones we store up in heaven. And I can’t imagine anything of greater value than spending eternity by the side of the Lord. So John encourages us to focus on the goal of seeking God and His will rather than being consumed by worldly pursuits. The choices we make and the actions we take based on God’s will have eternal consequences. That’s why we need to prioritize the pursuit of God’s kingdom and righteousness above all else.

Colossians 3:11

With inclusivity being the word of the day, there is only One who welcomes all to join His family. And that is God. Regardless of our ethnic, social, or cultural background, the Lord invites all to come to Him and receive His free gift of salvation. One of the most radical things Jesus Himself did was to reach out to the outcasts of the day. Eagerly the Lord loved the unlovable. These included tax collectors, prostitutes, and lepers. And you and me. That’s the beauty and awesomeness of God’s grace. He extends it to all. No matter who we are or what we’ve done, when we come before Him in true repentance, God forgives. Because the inclusiveness of God isn’t rooted in political correctness. Instead it’s rooted in His love for all people and His desire to reconcile us to Himself. This is why the message of the Gospel is good news for all people, and why the invitation to follow Jesus is open to anyone who is willing to receive it.

1 John 4:10

Many are the attributes of our most high God. He is good, merciful, faithful, wise, and all powerful; just to name a few. But above of else, God is love. And if there could be doubt, read 1 John 4. For in this little chapter love is mentioned over 25 times, and lies the very heart of the Gospel. God doesn’t love us because we are good, special, worthy, or deserving in any way. He loves us because He is love. And it is out of that amazing, unmerited love, that He sent His only Son Jesus to pay the sin debt that we owe. All He asks in return is that we open our hearts to Him and receive His free gift of love and grace. That’s it. No strings attached, conditions to meet, or standards to reach. God loves us, and no matter how dirty, broken, or sinful we are, He wants to call us His own. God wants to pick up us, dust off the dirt, wipe away our tears, replace our sorrow with joy, and make us royalty in His kingdom forever.

Philippians 2:2

One of the most wonderful things about the Gospel, is that it’s all inclusive. Because God loves each of us equally. And no one member of the church is more important than the next. So as members of the body of Christ, it’s important that we put ourselves aside and strive to meet the same goal in love, joy, and unity. That goal being sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ, and advancing God’s kingdom on earth. We all love a little pat on the back along with acknowledgement and appreciation. But when our own desires become our main focus, no longer are we working for God. Instead we’re working for the pleasing of our own egos. And that goes against who Jesus is and what He teaches. For Jesus lived a selfless, obedient life and then died a humiliating, excruciatingly painful death nailed to a Cross. He willingly became our substitute for sin, paying the debt that we owed. All in accordance to the will of God and out of love for us!

Romans 8:16-17

God’s Promise – “Jesus is happy to share His inheritance with you.”

We’ve all heard the saying, “you can pick your friends but you can’t pick your family.” But God in His goodness gives us the chance to do just that. Because once we choose to receive Jesus as our Savior, we become adopted heirs into God’s family. His beloved children reborn through the blood of Jesus. The Holy Spirit who comes to indwell us, testifies before the Lord that we are His. And we receive the great privilege of calling God, “Abba, Father!” Better still, we become joint heirs with Jesus to all the glories of God’s kingdom! Our Father in heaven never intended for us to walk through this life alone. That’s why He created families. And He longs for each of us to join His. To receive His perfect love, comfort, and guidance. God invites us to climb unto His lap, and rest in the arms of a loving Father. The One who gave His only begotten Son to offer adoption papers to the world!

1 Thessalonians 2 :12

We’ve all heard the expression, “the journey of a thousand miles begins with just one step.” A perfect description of the Christian life. Because receiving Jesus as our Savior is a single step of faith, that turns into a lifelong journey. It’s a trek of constantly moving forward and growing in maturity as we walk with the Lord. And as we travel, along the way we develop Christlike characteristics that deepen our relationship with God. Characteristics that both allow the fruit of Spirit, “love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control”, to shine through us for the world to see, and to lead lives that glorify God. And characteristics that mirror our Lord, providing wonderful testimonies to a desperate world. These include righteousness, walking on a path not led by the flesh but according to the Spirit. (Rom. 8:4). And of course obedience, walking in a manner worthy of God, because it’s the way we show the world, and God Himself, the love we have for Him. (John 14:15)
