God’s Love

June 28th – Matthew 24:22

Matthew 24:22

At the end of the age, before Jesus comes to set up His earthly kingdom, evil will reign. Sadly, hearts will be hardened and rebellion and lawlessness will rule. God says this will be the most terrible and bloody time the world has ever known. Imagine that! The wars, famines, plagues, genocides, and natural disasters that have happened in the past are nothing compared to the devastation to come. The wicked and their lust for blood and destruction, cause so many deaths, that unless God intervenes, not one single person will survive. But even up until the very end, God demonstrates His great love and mercy. For in His unmerited grace, God has numbered the days of destruction. Because of His devotion to His elect on the earth, He cuts those terrible days short and gathers them unto Himself for eternity!

April 27th – John 15:9

John 15:9

It is often said the three most beautiful words one can hear are, “I love you.” And these words are what Jesus says to each of us as His beloved. But the love Christ has for us surpasses any other kind of worldly love we could ever know. For His is an all encompassing, unmerited, unconditional, and unmeasurable love. A love with no beginning, and no ending. One that is selfless, sacrificial, and beyond any love this world could offer. And better yet, Jesus wants to remain in His perfect love. Letting it guide, protect, and fill us with His precious grace and peace.

April 24th – Psalm 136:26

Psalm 136:26

In psalm 136, twenty six times in twenty six verses, the writer tells us that God’s lovingkindness is everlasting. Lovingkindness is showing someone mercy, goodness, and love. Everlasting is something which endures forever, with no beginning and no end. Can there be a more way of describing God and His feelings for us? He is faithful and good. And even though we fail Him daily, the Lord will never fail us. So give thanks to the God in heaven, Lord of lords, King of kings, and Creator of all, for His indescribable and unmerited love. Because to Him alone goes all praise and glory!

April 11th – 1 John 4:16

1 John 4:16

As Christians, each day we have the awesome opportunity to experience God’s love and work in our lives. And because we see firsthand all that He does on our behalf, we have come to know and believe in the love the Lord has for each of us. A love demonstrated by His gift of His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ. God has such a great love for us, He holds nothing good back from His children. And because He is love, God promises that if we abide in Him, He in turn will forever abide in, and immerse us in His amazing love!

April 9th – 1 John 3:1

1 John 3:1

Do you ever feel like you just don’t fit in this world? As a Christian, that’s exactly how we should feel. For as members in the family of Christ, the earth isn’t our home. We are children of the most high God, and with Him is where we belong. And we long for the day when we go to our forever home in heaven and dwell with our Father for eternity. To those who don’t know Jesus as their Savior, this type of hopeful joy and expectation doesn’t make sense. But no matter. For we know the love of God, and all that awaits us when He welcomes us home!

April 6th – Deuteronomy 7:9

Deuteronomy 7:9

Relationships are hard, and people hurt, disappoint, and fail us daily. But there is one relationship that will never let us down. And that’s our relationship with God. For to those He calls His own, the Lord is faithful and true. His love never waivers, and not a single one of His promises fails to be fulfilled. We can trust our Father with every area of our hearts and lives, because He has pledged His covenant and lovingkindness to a thousandth generation. And in Romans 8:35 we are reminded that once we belong to God, nothing, absolutely nothing can superset us from His love!

April 2nd – 1 John 4:19

1 John 4:19

Born sinners and enemies of the Lord, once we had hearts of stone. But because God seeks a close, personal, relationship with us, He gave us the gift of love. Now not only can we love others, but we can love God with all of our hearts, minds and souls. And nowhere is God’s deep affection more evident, than in His love gift of Jesus Christ. Who, because of His death on the Cross, made it possible for us to offer in joy and gratitude to God a now acceptable love. A love made clean by faith in Christ and His righteousness.

John 3:16

Once we were dead in our sins and eternally separated from God. But our Father in heaven, in His great love, wanted to be reconciled to His children. And so He sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ to become our perfect sin sacrifice. Now, through the blood of our Lord, we can once again be welcomed back into God’s open and loving arms. Never again will we be apart from His love, mercy, and blessings. And greatest of all, when we receive Jesus as our Savior, we are promised an eternity spend by His side!

Hebrews 13:8

The world is constantly changing. And change can be good. Especially when it comes to changing ourselves for the better. But sometimes change can bring with it pain and disappointment. Yet no matter the circumstances we face, we can find confidence knowing that one thing always remains the same. And that’s Jesus. His grace, mercy, and blessings are the same today as they have always been. For He is the eternal God whose ways are everlasting. (Deut. 33:27, Hab. 3:6) In Him we can put our trust, hopes, and dreams. For His love endures forever!

March 21st – Psalm 51:12

Psalm 51:2

If there’s anyone in the Bible that shows even the greatest can fall, it’s king David. Even though he was personally chosen by God, David committed horrendous sins. But what David’s story also shows, is God’s never ending love and forgiveness. For when David truly wanted to make a change and come back to Him, God eagerly welcomed him back. And God promises to do the same for us. When we return to God in true sorrow and repentance, He will forgive our sin, welcome us into His open arms, and faithfully cleanse us of our iniquities!
