Matthew 6:28

Oh to be like the lily of the field. Clothed in beauty by the Creator’s hand, and spending the day swaying in the spring breeze without a care in the world. Although we know we will face difficulty in this life, we never have to face them alone. God invites us to turn over our worry and burdens to Him. Trusting that His grace, which unfurls like the petals of a flower, will nurture our needs before they even arise. He wants us to stop wasting our time fretting over tomorrow, worrying who will provide for us. Because our Almighty God is in complete control, and orchestrates every dawn with tender precision. So just as spring surrenders to the rhythm of growth ordained by heaven, let us we surrender our cares. And instead embrace the promise that everything we need, like the morning dew upon the petals, will be abundantly provided. Where we will find the comfort of knowing that tomorrow’s worries are already cradled in the hands of the Eternal Gardener. And worry is replaced with serenity, anxiety overcome with peace.

Waiting for spring takes great patience, as we wait for the warmth of the sun and the beautiful colors of blooming flowers and trees. Yet just as the changing seasons do so gradually, so too does God’s plan for our lives take shape in His perfect timing. In James 5:7, we are reminded of the importance of patience as we await the fulfillment of God’s promises. Like seeds planted in fertile soil, our dreams and desires require time to take root and grow. So today, let us cultivate patience as we trust in God’s sovereignty and His unwavering faithfulness. And let us embrace the season of waiting with a heart of gratitude, knowing that each moment brings us closer to the realization of the Lord’s purpose for our lives. Because as we surrender our timelines to His divine wisdom, we’ll find peace in the certainty that His plan is always greater than our own. With unwavering faith and steadfast trust, we can navigate the journey ahead. And do so trusting in God’s perfect timing, knowing all things will unfold according to His perfect will.

Ecclesiastes 3:1

King Solomon reminds us that just as the seasons change, so do the seasons of our lives. In the ebb and flow of time, there is a rhythm ordained by God Himself. As we journey through life’s various seasons, as hard as it can be, let us embrace change with courage and trust in His unwavering sovereignty. For although change brings with it the unknown, we can find comfort knowing God orchestrates all things according to His divine plan. And with each new season, there’s an opportunity for growth, renewal, and transformation. Just as spring follows winter, bringing forth new life from barren landscapes, so too can we emerge from seasons of difficulty and despair into seasons of hope and abundance. Therefore in every circumstance, let us anchor our faith in the unchanging character of God. And do so knowing that He is faithful to work all things together for our good. Mark 4:26-29

Just as seeds planted in the ground grow and bear fruit, our faith can flourish when nurtured by God’s Word and Spirit. In the quiet soil of our hearts the seeds of hope are planted, watered by the streams of grace that flow from the Lord. With steadfast trust, we scatter seeds of kindness, compassion, and love, knowing that even the smallest acts can yield abundant harvests. Sowing seeds of faith, we become instruments of God’s grace, spreading His love to all who cross our path, rejoicing in the abundant blessings that He bestows upon us. As we journey through life’s seasons, let us tend to the garden of our souls. May we till clean the soil of our hearts, removing weeds of doubt and fear, allowing faith to take root deeply within us. Oh how Mary’s heart must have overflowed with joy as she discovered the empty tomb and encountered her beloved risen Savior. A joy that would ignite hope in the hearts of believers for generations to come. How wonderful to be greeted not with the lifeless body of Jesus, but by an angel happily declaring, “He is not here; He has risen!” This miraculous event stands as the cornerstone of our faith, a triumphant declaration of Christ’s victory over sin and death. Through His resurrection, Jesus shattered the chains of sin and conquered the grave, securing eternal life for all who believe in Him. The empty tomb is not a symbol of defeat but of unparalleled victory, and a beacon of hope that illuminates the darkness of despair. In Christ’s resurrection, we find assurance that death has been defeated and that new life is available to all who place their trust in Him. Let us all rejoice in the resurrection of our Savior. For in His triumph, we find hope, redemption, and the promise of eternal life.

When it comes to life advice I’ve always told my son, “People who never color outside the lines, lead a pretty boring life.” As is His way, sometimes God hands us the crayons and invites us to color outside the lines of our comfort box. Just like He did with Abraham. Heeding God’s call, Abraham left everything he knew to journey into the unknown. He accepted God’s invitation to embrace a new beginning, one that required unwavering trust and obedience. God’s call to Abraham reminds us that new beginnings often happen when we are willing to trust in His plans and obediently follow His lead. Especially when the path ahead is uncertain. When we trust God and step out of our comfort zone, we embark on a journey where fear transforms into faith, doubts into discoveries, and limitations into limitless possibilities. It’s a path of surrender and grace, where God unfolds His plans in ways that surpass our imagination, turning the ordinary into extraordinary.

As the curtain closes on 2023, people around the world are making their goals for the new year ahead. I myself am working on a vision board. A place where all my goals are together, and daily I am reminded of each one. When it comes to reflection and intention setting, Psalm 37:5 serves as a guiding light. For our greatest goal should be to commit everything to the Lord, and to trust Him in all things. God invites us to embark on the journey of the upcoming year with a heart surrendered to His guidance. And in the quiet moments of reflection, to ponder not only the aspirations and goals we set, but also to make sure those aspirations line up with God’s. As we commit our plans to the Lord, we acknowledge His wisdom, entrusting our path to the One who created the universe. In the canvas of the coming year, may our intentions be colored by trust, faith, and a genuine desire to walk in step with God’s unfolding plan. Always seeking His guidance, and making sure our goals are aligned with God’s purpose.

In the hushed quiet of the Bethlehem night, the shepherds stood in the darkness, their watchful eyes scanning the starlit sky. Suddenly that darkness was shattered by the light of the appearance of God’s angels. A great host, announcing the arrival of the hope of the world with the birth of Jesus. A hope that filled the shepherds with great joy, and one they spread to all they met. For the promised Messiah, sent by God, proved that hope placed in the faithfulness of the Lord will always be rewarded. What a beautiful portrait of resilience and endurance. One that encourages us to place our hope not in the world, but in God. In the quiet moments and twinkling stars of the season, we can draw strength from God’s promises. And we can find comfort in the belief that even in the darkest nights of our lives, the dawn of hope is on the horizon. Christmas, at its core, becomes a beacon of hope, inviting us to trust in the God who renews and sustains us, enabling us to soar above life’s challenges with unwavering faith.

If there’s anyone who knows adversity, it’s Job. He lost everything. His family, his wealth, and his health. A once prominent man, he became a laughing stock to those around him. Yet through it all, Job maintained an unwavering trust in God. And against those who told himself otherwise, he refused to curse the Lord. Even in the depths of his despair. His resilience is a testament to a steadfast spirit anchored in the belief that God’s purpose and mercy always prevail. Job’s enduring faith, even in the face of seemingly insurmountable challenges, serves as an enduring example of unwavering hope amid trials. It speaks to the transformative power of difficulties. Because during trials there lies an opportunity to witness the compassionate and merciful nature of the Lord. That’s why James encourages us to anchor our hope in the understanding that endurance, guided by faith, reveals the profound purposes of a compassionate and merciful God.
