Jesus Christ

June 26th – Philippians 3:20

Philippians 3:20

Because we are Christians, we are not citizens of this earth, but rather just passing though. Our allegiance is to heaven and our King, Jesus Christ. But until our Savior calls us home, we are to conduct ourselves according to the teachings and commands of our Lord. Jesus directs us to act in both word and deed as the heavenly citizens we are. By forgoing worldly living, we can keep our eyes on the prize. The day Jesus returns. On that magnificent day, our Messiah comes to take us the the place He personally prepared for each of us. Where there we will dwell by His side forever with new glorified bodies. Bodies that will feel no pain, sadness, disease, sickness, or sin. And all we will know is everlasting joy and peace!

No Other Gospel – Galatians 1-2

Galatians 1-2

After returning to Antioch, Paul learned that controversy was brewing among the newly founded churches in the Roman province of Galatia. Some Jewish Christians accused him of “sweetening the pot” to make the message of the gospel more appealing to Gentiles. They disagreed with Paul’s teaching that Gentile believers didn’t need to follow the Jewish laws and customs to receive salvation, and told the members so. …

June 4th – Titus 2:13

Titus 2:13

As Christians, we know this earth isn’t our forever home. As co-heirs with Jesus, we are members of His heavenly kingdom. And by His side is where we will spend eternity. But while we wait for the blessed hope of the Lord’s return, we have work to do. Not only are we to continue spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ, we are also to continue working on ourselves. We do this by rejecting the values of the world, and leading sensible, righteous, and godly lives. Each day could be the day of the glorious return of our Savior, Jesus Christ. And as we anxiously await His appearing, the hope filling our hearts will carry us through every trial we face in this fallen world.

May 28th – Colossians 2:14

Colossians 2:14

Each of us are born with an IOU. A payment of sin debt that must be paid. For God’s Law is perfect, and all have transgressed against that Law. And as such, a death warrant has been issued in our name. But because of His great love, God was willing to take our debt upon Himself. Knowing no one could be perfect enough to reconcile the wrongs against Him, God sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to pay what we cannot. He nailed His Son to a Cross of wood not just to provide us a pardon, but to pay our penalty in full. And to those who abide in Him, with His precious blood, Christ nailed our death warrant to the Cross with Him. Canceling every debt we owe forever!

April 28th – Psalm 31:3

Psalm 31:3

No matter who we are, we all face storms in life. But unlike those who put their faith in the world, Christians have a safe haven in Jesus. Through His precious blood, we are adopted heirs into the family of Christ. And as such, we are welcomed into God’s great fortress. So regardless of the strength of the attacks from the Enemy, we are safe behind His impenetrable walls. For the sake of the name of His precious Son, our Father will allow no barrage to defeat us. So let the wind rage. Because we are under the protection of the One who controls the storm.

April 20th – John 1:29

John 1:29

As cousin to Jesus, John the Baptist was a godly man in his own right. Preaching and baptizing in the wilderness of Judea, John spent his life preparing for the arrival of his Savior. So imagine his joy when John saw Jesus at the Jordan river, knowing He was the promised Messiah. The Son of the great Almighty, who came to take away the sins of the world. For more than just a Friend, Teacher, or Prophet, Jesus is the Lamb of God, who out of His perfect love, gave His life to be our sacrificial substitute. His precious blood paid our sin debt in full, giving us access to the Father, and providing us with life eternal.

April 19th – Acts 4:12

Acts 4:12

Each of us are born with a “God hole”. An emptiness in our hearts and souls that although we try to fill with other things, can only be filled by God. And throughout history people have tried on their own to fill the void in their spirit. They create false religions, false gods, and false salvation. But there is only one road to heaven. And that is through the blood of Jesus Christ. The only begotten Son of God, Jesus willingly left His glorious place in heaven to die for our sins and offer us the gift of eternal life. Any other way is a lie, and a certain path to both destruction and death.

April 13th – John 10:17

John 10:17

When Jesus died on the Cross, His enemies thought they had won. But instead, the victory is Christ’s alone. For our Savior willingly laid down His life to pay the sin debt we owe and to offer us the gift of eternal life. Fully God and fully man, the Lord had all power and authority at His command. Yet in His awesome love for both us and the Father, Jesus died and remained in the grave for three days before His glorious resurrection! Now the sting of death is gone, scripture is fulfilled, and Jesus is once again at His rightful place at he right hand of God as our great Intercessor!

April 10th – John 14:21

John 14:21

One of the most wonderful qualities of God is love. And it was out of this great devotion that He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to offer us eternal life. Now that in itself is an indescribable gift of love. But the great God we serve offers even more. For to those who receive Jesus as their Savior, God presents the opportunity to enjoy with Him an intimate, loving, personal relationship. Through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, and our obedience to His commands, the Lord reveals Himself in intimate ways that an unbelieving world could never experience!

April 2nd – 1 John 4:19

1 John 4:19

Born sinners and enemies of the Lord, once we had hearts of stone. But because God seeks a close, personal, relationship with us, He gave us the gift of love. Now not only can we love others, but we can love God with all of our hearts, minds and souls. And nowhere is God’s deep affection more evident, than in His love gift of Jesus Christ. Who, because of His death on the Cross, made it possible for us to offer in joy and gratitude to God a now acceptable love. A love made clean by faith in Christ and His righteousness.
