Jesus Christ

April 1st – John 3:16

John 3:16

Once we were dead in our sins and eternally separated from God. But our Father in heaven, in His great love, wanted to be reconciled to His children. And so He sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ to become our perfect sin sacrifice. Now, through the blood of our Lord, we can once again be welcomed back into God’s open and loving arms. Never again will we be apart from His love, mercy, and blessings. And greatest of all, when we receive Jesus as our Savior, we are promised an eternity spend by His side!

A Greater Message – Hebrews 2

Hebrews 2

Before Jesus walked the earth, angels delivered messages from God and participated in the giving of the Law. (Deuteronomy 33:2-3Acts 7:53Galatians 3:19). To the Jewish people, these messages were highly esteemed, regarded as authority, and “proved unalterable.” (v. 2) In Hebrews chapter 2, we’re told that if the angels messages were considered great, how much greater is the message of Jesus! …

March 26th – Hebrews 13:8

Hebrews 13:8

The world is constantly changing. And change can be good. Especially when it comes to changing ourselves for the better. But sometimes change can bring with it pain and disappointment. Yet no matter the circumstances we face, we can find confidence knowing that one thing always remains the same. And that’s Jesus. His grace, mercy, and blessings are the same today as they have always been. For He is the eternal God whose ways are everlasting. (Deut. 33:27, Hab. 3:6) In Him we can put our trust, hopes, and dreams. For His love endures forever!

March 24th – 1 Corinthians 6:11

1 Corinthians 6:11

Once we were eternally separated from God, dead in our sins. We practiced all kinds of worldly debauchery. But then we received Jesus as our Savior. And now the heart that once craved immorality, longs for the things of Christ. For we have been washed, sanctified, and justified through the blood of Jesus. So the change in our heart should be followed by a change in our actions. For how can we be shining examples of Christ to the world, if our lives mimic the lives of the unsaved. May we each walk in His Spirit and truth, “so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation. Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky.” (Phil. 2:15)

March 18th – Acts 2:38

Acts 2:38

Change is hard. And real godly change is impossible on our own. But out of His great love, God never expects His children to go it alone. That’s why the moment we receive Jesus as our Savior, the Holy Spirit indwells us, becoming our permanent Helper in all things. Now the once seemingly impossible becomes possible, through the strength of the Spirit. He guides, teaches, and convicts us of our sin against God. The Holy Spirit is our divine gift from God, and is our eternal source of revelation, wisdom, and power.

Walking In The Light – 1 John 1

1 John 1

When John was in Ephesus he learned of false teachers infecting and dividing the church. And so he responded with this letter reminding believers of the foundational beliefs of the faith, and giving them assurance of their salvation. He packs a lot into this first chapter,  including the most beautiful teaching, “God is Light”. …

March 10th – Colossians 3:10

Colossians 3:10

Who doesn’t love putting on a beautiful brand new outfit? When we receive Jesus as our Savior, we get the grandest of all clothes. Before we knew Him, we wore filthy rags of sin. But now we are clothed in white robes of righteousness, glorious and clean. And each day, we are to put on the beautiful outfit Jesus died to purchase for us. We do this by allowing the Holy Spirit to renew our hearts and minds as we spend time daily in God’s Word. So each morning get up, get dressed, and give thanks for new self God offers to all who believe in Him!

March 4th – Psalm 51:12

Psalm 51:12

Once we accept Jesus as our Savior, we receive the free gift of salvation. And although that salvation can never be lost, the joy of being saved is diminished when we live in unrepentant sin. David loved the Lord, but his sin with Bathsheba affected the relationship between them. And sin affects ours as well. And to bring us back into fellowship with God we need to, like David, confess and repent from our sin. When we do, God is faithful to welcome us back into His loving arms, and fill our hearts with the joy of having a close personal relationship with Him once again!

February 22nd – Romans 5:8

Romans 5:8

Once we lived in darkness, eternally separated by sin from God. But because of His great love, God refused to leave us in that hopeless condition. So He sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to provide reconciliation. Now, because of Christ’s death on the Cross, we are declared innocent and righteous before God. And through the blood of the Lamb, we become adopted sons and daughters in God’s family and heirs to His wonderful promises. And all of this is only possible through the amazing love God has for each and every one of us.

February 18th – 2 Corinthians 5:14-15

2 Corinthians 5:14-15

Paul deeply loved the Lord. He personally witnessed all that Jesus endured for the sake of each and everyone one of us. Compelled by the self sacrificing love of the Lord, Paul dedicated his life to following God and sharing Christ’s love with the world. And as followers of Jesus, we too should share that same compelling desire. For Jesus died for all. So out hearts of thankfulness for the great love He has shown us, we in return need to have a Christlike love for others. And the greatest way to show that love is to share the Good News of the saving grace of Jesus Christ.
